THUNDERBIRD SCHOOL OF GLOBAL MANAGEMENT VISITS GHP FAR EAST

On 13^th January 2011 representatives of Thunderbird School of Global Management* visited GHP Far East’s head office as part of their program of visiting enterprises of South East Asia. Delegation included mostly new graduates & their lecturers. The purpose of this visit was to provide a widen review of business activities in real working environment and create a bridge between enterprises and students.

Visitors visited business units, production facilities of GHP Far East & attended presentation of the company.

*Thunderbird School of Global Management is a private business school whose main campus is located in Glendale, Arizona.

Founded in 1946 by retired U.S. Army Air Forces Lieutenant General Barton Kyle Yount (1884–1949).

Thunderbird’s main degree is the MBA in Global Management. Students may select concentrations in global finance, marketing, management, and/or development.

Thunderbird has over 40,000 alumni and 150 alumni chapters in 141 countries throughout the world.

CAN THO BRANCH: OPERATING UPDATE

In March 2011 GHP Far East opened a production branch in Can Tho City, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street.* The rapid growth of the company was a reason of launching new production facilities. Additionally, this is the way of improving risk management & providing sustainable business continuity.

Current production facilities of Can Tho’s office include 3 produciton floors, with 878,54 sq.m. of office spaces. Each floor is equipped with about 60 working places.

Our review of the year 2011 starts with a look back at the key events that shaped

GHP Far East business activity in 2011.

Overall overview

• The number of employees grew by 739 people & reached 1300 totally
• The revenue raise is 100% compared to the previous year
• IDEAS launch – a new software product was firstly used by customer
• The clients network was expanded into US market

February
7 years Birthday was organized in Quang Trung Software City with sport competitions, cooking contest & couple contest.

March
As a respond on a growing demand on data entry services, GHP Far East opened a new branch in Can Tho City. The opening was accompanied by festive ceremony, which visited honored guests from German Consulate, Swiss Post International, local authorities & business partners. Additionally the new office at Quang Trung Software Park was opened, supporting data entry & image processing projects. Totally new branch & new office provided 450 working places.

10th Anniversary of Quang Trung: GHP Far East got the prize ‘The Top Enterprise of the Year 2010’ from QTSC and merit from HCMC People’s Committee for its contribution in the last years in QTSC.

July
GHP Far East was awarded the fifth consecutive ICT Gold Medal and third ICT TOP 5 CUP for GHP Far East’s revenue in software outsourcing.

August
HCA presented its annual report ‘Performance Appraisal and ICT Ranking’, where GHP Far East has reached the 61st place of 102 ICT enterprises by its ‘Revenue of 2010′ and 8 of 42 in ‘Business performance ranking by sector’.

September
Meeting with our Singaporean colleagues, Swiss Post International for introducing GHP Far East’s production facilities & technologies

An annual company trip took place in Ham Thuan Nam, Phan Thiet province, Vietnam. About 800 employees from Saigon & Can Tho enjoyed sea, sand beach, competitions & games.

GHP Far East in Japan: participation in Investment developing meetings in Japan as a part of delegation of senior officials & business representatives of Vietnam

6 October – welcoming the 1000th employee, Ms. Tran Thi Be Quyen, a typist from Can Tho City branch.

December
Participation in the 3rd Chief Security Officers ASEAN Conference ‘Information Security – Facing the threats’. In the ceremony Mr. Schellenberg was honoured as ‘One of the most outstanding Chief Security Officers in 2011’

This Christmas gathered all of us together. The amazing party proved one more time that GHP is not just a company of coworkers, but also a big family, happy to unite all of its members.

First of all, we would like to thank all of us for the fruitful job within the year 2011. We can be very proud of where we are now and (but) we still have a lot of work in front of us for the next coming years! GHP FAR EAST WELCOMES ITS 1000th EMPLOYEE

It’s been less than 8 years when GHP Far East was established in 2004 with 50 employees. Since then, many other people have followed the company.

The 1000th employee has become Ms. Tran Thi Be Quyen, a typist from Can Tho City branch. On Xmas celebration event she received a valuable prise. We believe that new employee will become a part of vibrant community of GHP Far East.

We are happy to celebrate this significant milestone!

The 3rd CHIEF SECURITY OFFICERS (CSO) ASEAN CONFERENCE & GHP FAR EAST AWARDING

CSO ASEAN Conference has become a prestigious ASEAN information security event, aimed at professionals, responsible for information security in enterprises, governmental and civic organizations. This conference was attended by delegates from Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Israel, Indonesia, Cambodia and Brunei.

The information security situation worldwide in 2011 has become more complicated due to a series of attacks and website shut downs, sensitive data theft, etc.¹ Tracing the latest trends, CSO ASEAN Conference 2011 came up with the theme: “Information Security – Facing the threats” to review the threats of information security that Vietnam and the world have recently faced. The Conference included 4 keynotes and 4 sessions with plenary roundtable discussion. Totally 25 local and international speakers participated with reports, representing enterprise, financial, banking information security and IT organization etc.

The event included 4 presentations which were focused on information threats and prevention solutions. The major points were: Information Security Deployment case study from Thailand and attacks and intrusion by malicious software problem such as Stuxnet. The plenary discussion also joined Frank Schellenberg, CEO of GHP Far East.

Later on, the CSO Awards 2011 was given at a symposium, held on December 6. In the ceremony Mr. Schellenberg was awarded as ‘One of the most outstanding Chief Security Officers in 2011’ with the presence of government officials, IT/Security community and different media. This is another evidence of continuing work of GHP Far East about its information security, resulted in improving services and raising customer satisfaction.
